Mrs. Bridge's 2nd Grade Government Blog

Our class wanted to answer the question: How does the government impact ME? We learned about several different aspects of government, including government service jobs, general government information like elections and the voting process, government functions and buildings, and government roles. Each student chose one area that they felt impacted them, and created a blog post. We learned so much along the way, and had some amazing guests visit our students!

Congress (Government Function)

Members of Congress make laws. Congress is part of the

Legislative Branch. Congress writes plans for new laws.

The three branches are the Legislative, Executive, and Judicial Branch. Each state has two senators. The Senate and House each vote on bills. Congress impacts me because it makes the rules I need to follow.
